People are What’s Important to Us


As a church, people are the focus of everything we do, not their money. We don’t view things through the lens of a donor base, giving units, or projects for those with money. We want everyone who comes to feel welcome, whether or not you give financially to our church.


So Why Give?


Giving is a part of worship. We believe giving cheerfully and sacrificially is an act of worship that blesses the giver as much as the receiver (2 Corinthians 9:6-7). Among many reasons Jesus gives us for why we should give, one that should move your heart most directly is because it makes us more like him. Giving is absolutely essential to following Jesus.


When we give out of love for Jesus, and with a generous heart, it causes many changes within us. Here are just a few:


1. It changes our character, conforming us to be more like Jesus as an unselfish giver.

2. It helps us realize the true ownership of ALL of our possessions. (1 Chronicles 29:11-12)

3. It teaches us to trust and submit everything to Jesus. (Deuteronomy 14:22-23)

4. It works against our tendency to want to make our lives all about money.

5. It deepens our relationship with Jesus and directs our attention and heart to him. (Matthew 6:21)

Ways you can give

  • Give Online

    We use Tithe.ly for processing our online donations. Click here and you will be directed to the Tithe.ly giving page where you can make a donation. You will be given the option of making either a one-time gift or a recurring gift. There is a 3% fee (approx) when using Tithe.ly, which you can choose to pay or it will be taken off of your donation.

  • Give from your smart phone

    We offer a mobile version of our online giving page to make it easy for you to give anytime, anywhere from your smart phone. To start, download the Tithe.ly app from Google Play or the App Store. Then search for Westsyde Fellowship Church. Once you’ve found us, simply click “Give” to start. When you’ve finished you will be given the option of creating an account. This will enable you to give in the future by logging into your account with a four digit pass code which will take you directly to Westsyde’s page. Once your account is set up you can make a gift in just a few seconds.

  • Give using E-transfer

    Through your on-line banking, send your e-transfer to westsydefellowship@shaw.ca. Be aware that your bank may charge fees to send an e-transfer.

  • Give during Sunday service

    An offering is received each Sunday morning where cash or cheques are accepted. Cash donations should be placed in an offering envelope with your name and address if a receipt is required.

  • Give by mail

    Make your cheque payable to “Westsyde Fellowship Church” and mail it to:

Policies related to giving

Personal Information: Any data collected during the giving process is accessible by our financial team for record keeping and tax receipting purposes. Westsyde Fellowship Church does not share donor information with any other parties. Personal information is collected only for ministry purposes. By providing your personal information during the giving and payment process, you consent to have Westsyde Fellowship Church record your information for receipting and ministry purposes. To update the personal information Westsyde Fellowship Church has on record for you please contact us.


Tax Receipts: Tax receipts for donations will be issued according to Canada Revenue Agency requirements after the end of each year and mailed before the end of February. Please contact us if you did not receive your receipt.


Designated Funds Policy: Spending of funds is confined to programs and projects approved by the Leadership Team. Each restricted contribution designated toward such an approved program or project will be used as designated with the understanding that when the need for such a program or project has been met, or cannot be completed for any reason determined by the organization, the remaining restricted contributions will be used where needed most.
